So following on from my kids inspiration in last weeks blog, I wanted to give you some ideas as to where to buy the furniture. I have to say that it is becoming more difficult to find quirky kids furniture in Dublin and further afield these days. And to be honest, here at Think Contemporary, we tend to use our carpenter or cabinet maker for most projects that we work on, whether that’s making an unusual shaped headboard or a cool wall installation.
Now I understand that most of you don’t have the time to do this, so here is a selection of cool furniture, specifically for your kids….
Kilcroney Furniture in Kilcroney, Co Wicklow have a great selection of kids furniture. I love the multifunctional furniture below, particularly if you are working with a limited space.
It might seem like the easy option to recommend Ikea, but I’m a big fan. I think that Ikea have a fantastic range of kids furniture and lets face it, kids will grow out of their rooms in a few years, so you really don’t want to invest a large amount.
What I would recommend to do is, invest in the larger items, that your kids will not grow out of i.e the bed, the wardrobe and then add smaller Ikea items to add interest.
If you are in the process of redecorating your kids room or just starting then I hope that I have given you some ideas. If you are still struggling to pull it all together then why not avail of our “Open Studio.” You can pop into the office for a cuppa and a chat.
