I’m sure you guys have noticed, but there has been a real insurgence of new eateries in Dublin in the last year or two. With more and more choice for us consumers, just good food is not enough anymore. We expect great, service, interesting offerings and cool interiors. This has long been the trend in places like New York and London, and thankfully Dublin has caught up.
Here are 3 of my favourite restaurants, which offer all of the above:
Fade St Social
Fade St Social is the brainchild of chef and restaurateur Dylan McGrath. It has 2 offerings, an A La Carte restaurant and a Gastro Bar. While I have not yet had the pleasure of trying the restaurant, I have been many times to the Gastro Bar and it never disappoints.
From the the beautifully neutral interior to the quirky dishes, this place is a must if you haven’t tried it yet!
The Woolen Mills
The Woolen Mills only recently opened its doors and it has been a huge success. Owned by the same people as The Winding Stair, this restuarant offers a very different variety of food including Ox Tongue, Beef Cheek and Ham Hock.
The atmosphere is casual and cosy and is the perfect northside pitstop, whether you are just popping in for lunch or chilling over a glass of wine.
Opium is located on Wexford St, in the old “Village” building. It is a Thai/Vietnamese restaurant that offers something a little bit different to all the other Thai restaurants around.
The space itself is quite dark, but there is a sense of gentleman’s club to it that I really loved.
So if you haven’t checked out these fab restaurants, then what are you waiting for…..
